Thai Acrylic Fibre (TAF), is set to offer seven new shades of its eco-friendly gel-dyed Radianza in small lots, ranging from 2-3 tons per shade. TAF produces more than 14 different types of speciality fibres including technical fibres for high-end applications. Incorporated in 1987, TAF ranks among the top five quality acrylic fibre producers globally.
The decision has been taken based on feedback from customers and growing demand of sustainable products from global brands and retailers who want to try out the product in their upcoming ranges, TAF said in a press release.
“Customer voice is the most important consideration while making our business decisions, and based on their feedback and after analysing our sales trend we have taken this decision. We have now also started working with brands on developing eco-friendly fabrics and garments and availability of Radianza in smaller quantities will support these developments,” Satyaki Ghosh, CEO TAF said.
The offer is available for 3.0 Denier tow and tops for the shades TC104 (Light brown), DR433 (Crimson Red), CN410 (Black), CS212 (Grey), TC302 (Rust), DG409 (Dark Green), DB422 (Dark Blue). Radianza fibre has witnessed high increase in demand as it consumes minimum resources and pollutes the environment much less than other alternatives.
Radianza fibre is prepared by gel dyeing technology and a fabric made from yarns with 100 per cent Radianza fibres would need much less water/energy as compared to conventional dyeing. Moreover, with no need of dyeing at a yarn or fabric stage, there is no discharge of dye stuff unlike in conventional dyeing where dye stull losses lead to polluted effluent. To further eco this message, TAF has recently launched a campaign on Radianza called ‘Nature Thanks Back!’ that talks about the benefits of using Radianza to the nature and our coming generations.
Recent strictness by Government and protest by various environment bodies have led to environment laws, pollution tax, and so on, especially on dyeing units that are a major source of pollution. In this scenario, Radianza fibre provides a value added solution by eliminating the need of yarn/fabric dyeing. (GK)
